Sailing out of New York Cruise Port

My recent cruise on the NCL Escape out of the New York pier, on a beautiful day, offered a great view in and out.

Parts of the Intrepid
New Jersey skyline
Hoboken New Jersey
Sailing under the Verrazano Bridge

And we were off to two days at sea before the first port of San Juan Puerto Rico.

Leaving the port in San Juan

The next port is St. Maarten

St. Maarten comes into view
Approaching the port of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic
Tortola
Some shopping if you need to in Tortola
Another cruise ship in port at Charlotte Amalie port, St. Thomas

As you approach these ports you will notice they tend to look alike. There are hills in the background, several boat basins and not to mention the beautiful turquoise water. Having been to all the ports before, this cruise was for total relaxation and enjoyment of the ship’s amenities.

bbq ribs
Prime rib
Peppered shrimp
Lasagna
Caprese a little different than what I expected
Smoked salmon and bagel
Fusion style at the Food Republic restaurant
Pho ( Vietnam soup)

The Food Republic restaurant is one of the specialty restaurants on the NCL escape. It is fusion restaurant that operates different from a traditional restaurant. You select and order your meal on a tablet and whichever of your choices is done first is brought to the table. An interesting experience with a mixed choice of dishes.

These crab cakes were hmm good
Choir Men cast clowning around before start of performance
Live entertainment while dining

Hopefully this gives a snapshot of my cruise. Let me share a little view of returning to the New York port.

The Verrazano Bridge comes into view with Staten Island on the left.
Crossing under the bridge
World Trade Center soars above the skyline
The Empire State Building

Tourists aboard The Circle Line

The Circle Line is a staple boat tour leaving out of the New York harbor that sails on the Hudson River referred to in Sinatra’s song New York New York.

Well that’s it folks until next time.
