Visited Nuevo Vallarta

I decided to visit the Vidanta Resort in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. Several years ago I spent a week at a Vidanta Resort in Los Cabos which I enjoyed and after viewing the website thought I would visit. The Vidanta resort in Nuevo Vallarta is the largest location of their group of resorts and is currently expanding. The airport is about twenty minutes away in normal traffic. The compound is massive and has the feel of being in a rain forest. To be noted it is luxury lifestyle vacation club. Visitors (non members) may visit at an astronomical price per night.

As you enter the entrance you certainly get the impression of seclusion with well maintained gardens and a long drive in. Upon arrival there are bellboys to greet you and your luggage is placed securely in a locked transporter. You receive receipt with a number. After arriving in your assigned room you call the number provided and your luggage is brought to your room and unlocked in your presence.

As a non member it is strategically set up that you meet a marketing representative who immediately starts the marketing pitch verifying your identification etc. All of this before you get to the check in desk.

Despite the delay in getting to the actual check in, this is a beautiful huge resort, Getting around is facilitated by a well run trolley/shuttle system or walking along wooded or paved pathways. At each stop of the shuttle vehicles there is always an attendant to assist and to advise you as to which shuttle to take sometimes requiring transfers. To help you navigate the property the vidanta app gives step by step directions and the approximate time to reach your destination.

There are over twenty places to eat with a variety of cuisine to include Italian Mexican

Some of the servings at the restaurants are large to serve two people for example the lobster tail was more than enough for two people. We had grilled parrot at another restaurant Ola Mulata fortunately the waiter informed us on the portion.

A major spot to view sunset is at the Salum. This is a spot to experience some street food enjoy the fire show and some tequila.

Walking by one of the many pools at night

I was disappointed I was not able to spend as much time in the ocean as I usually do because the waves were quite powerful but there was enough beach area for avid sunbathers but I enjoyed relaxing under the tiki umbrella while enjoying a cocktail.

We attended the Mexican Fiesta $85 which included unlimited beverages to include alcohol, live entertainment and buffet dinner. There was entertainment for adults and children.

The host moved amongst guest and serving tequila after which the guest had to make a bird like squeal

One of the highlights for adults or children was the lazy river. Under protest I went with my sister and have to admit I really enjoyed it.

The workers were friendly and warm to their guests. The place was well maintained it was like being in a forest and workers were seen everyday taking care of the grounds.

Well that’s all for now. As a reminder the resort is a vacation club however, based on availability you can stay there.
