Springtime is in the air

Well here we are again signs that we have weathered the winter and without much snow here in Brooklyn, New York. We had a few very cold days but that was fine for me since there was no snow. The pandemic still lingers on with signs of improvement but I suspect that we will be having this around for a long time. I got my 2 shots and booster and fortunately with no side effects and no (Covid) positive test. I am still cautious being mindful of where I am and whether I need to wear a mask yes or no.

I decided to visit the botanical garden to see what blooms were out and to take a walk and enjoy the open environment. Surprisingly there was a lot of people this early in the season and it appeared a large group of Japanese guests.

Well as you move around there are signs of spring; budding trees, daffodils and not to mention cherry blossoms. The cherry esplanade is a section of the garden that comes alive in the springtime with cherry blossoms of all sorts and color but is not yet in full bloom so I will be going back when it is. When the esplanade is in full bloom it is so beautiful and since it is short lived, timing is crucial. This is one of the main displays I like to see annually but have missed for the last two years.

As i walked a half a block from home I ran into this beauty.

  1. No such springtime flowers or anything this area of the continent!  We have a few more weeks to go to see these lovely flowers. It is still quite cold here in Canada.   We are ‘thinking’ Spring but are hard-pressed to do so as the weather is not changing that fast.  Our winds are really strong and causes a distinct chill in the air!The virus is hanging on for ‘dear life’ and we try to make sure that we do not do anything that will cause us to ‘open  ourselves up’ to the virus. The news is not that good for us as yet but for sure the real Spring will appear very soon…..leading, of course, to a glorious Summer.  Until then, we wait………FaithSent from my Galaxy

  2. Hi Auntie!

I love the Cherry blossoms. This time of year in the north east is visually appealing. Thank you for sharing your world with us.

The following suggested edits are for clarity.

Check sentence in the 1st paragraph: “We had a few very cold days, but that was fine for me (change “while” to “since”) there was no snow.

“I got my 2 shots and booster and fortunately with no side effects and no (Covid) positive test.”

“I decided to visit the botanical garden to see what blooms were (ou ?) and to take a walk and enjoy the open environment.”

New paragraph: I decided to visit the botanical garden to see what blooms were ou and to take a walk and enjoy the open environment. Surprisingly there was a lot of people this early in the season and it appeared a large group of Japanese guests.

Check sentence in the 2nd paragraph: “The (cherry esplanade – for those who ‘be never seen this I would explain what it is) is not yet in full bloom so I will be going back when it is. When the esplanade is in full bloom it is so beautiful and since it is short lived ( , ) timing is crucial.”

“ This (is) one of the main displays I like to see annually but have missed for the last two years.”

Hope this is helpful. I love that you are keeping your blog active and with current insights.
